Curtains

John finished his 6 albums project with this wonderful acoustic album: Curtains. It's my 2nd favorite of the six albums serie (with Inside of Emptiness).

On this record, John just sings and plays acoustic guitar, bass & piano on some songs ('Your Warning', 'Time Tonight' & 'Leap Your Bar', which is entirely played with the piano).
Carla Azar of Autolux also plays drums in some songs and John's friend, Omar Rodriguez Lopez of the Mars Volta also plays some guitar (like on 'Anne's much beautiful solo). John and him played the same guitar part during the solo together, while using the same amp (as John and Josh Klinghoffer already did on 'I'm Around' on the album Inside Of Emptiness).

To describe this album in three words, i'd say it is at the same time very warm, sad & beautiful, three adjectives put together to make the more intimate & one of the more achieved of John Frusciante's albums.
The songs are so gorgeous and the lyrics so intense, you just have one thing to do: to listen the music, closing your eyes and losing yourself in your own thoughts...
All songs are more beautiful than each other in this album: from 'The Past Recedes' with its wonderful solo, to 'Your Warning' & 'Time Tonight' which freeze you on place with their deep & genuine lyrics, passing by the powerful crescendos of 'Control' & the transcendental 'Ascension', you can't overlook this album, this is just pure music with pure lyrics, all recorded in John's own living-room...

This album definitely won't disappoint you: it's not an usual acoustic album, it's much more than that, it's a real masterpiece !
