The Will To Death

It's the first record of the 6 albums in six month project.

In spite of being Shadows Collide With People predecessor, The Will To Death doesn't assimilate a lot this last.

This is one of the numerous talents of John Frusciante; to always create different and interesting albums. There's only a handful of artist capable of that, and John Frusciante belong to this category. You can listen all his albums in one entire day, and you'll never bored yourself, there's always diferent elements. We easily recognize John Frusciante's sound, (that's why I can get up off my bed the morning in one second listening the first notes of 'Going Inside'...) but he knows how to make all his albums sound different of each other, while keeping is own sound and way of playing.

One of the differences regarding Shadows Collide With People, is that on Shadows, John wanted all perfect (he even recorded it in studio), whereas on this album, he intentionally kept the imperfections, to make a more "raw" album, like in 60's - 70's, with groups such as Velvet Underground, Rolling Stones or Talking Heads. That's why we can hear at several times, John turn pages or even walk.

It once again, contains powerful songs, with powerful lyrics ('I can't wait for life...' in 'A Loop'/'The face in the Mirror is not me...' in 'The Mirror'/'The will to death is what keeps me alive' in 'The Will To Death') and a beautiful aerial instrumental (as always...), 'Hellical'.

An album which promises a lot for the 5 followings...
